Big Brother

Proud big brother Liam has had a wonderful transition. He loves his baby sister Julia. He came to the hospital the afternoon she was born and aside from being a little bothered by mommy not being able to get out of bed, he came right over to her and knew that Julia was his baby sister! He wanted to hold her, so he got in bed next to me and did just great with her. It was so, so sweet.



My parents, Meme and Popaw, stayed at the house with him during the week and he did just wonderfully. He came to the hospital each afternoon after school to visit and did just wonderfully.

Liam and Popaw built these "stick gardens." If you look closely, you can see each of the beds full of sticks standing up!

Baby Sister Julia gave Liam a special big brother gift. Liam was really excited about his computer from her!

He is so helpful and wants to be involved. He is helping Daddy swaddle her here.

The last day he came to the hospital (Wed), he decided he needed to wear Julia's hat. It was pretty small, but he managed to get it over his head. Good thing we brought her an extra hat. He ended up wearing it home and didn't take it off until bath time.

Before Julia was born, Mommy, Daddy and Liam made this very special painting for her room. Liam's helped paint the background and used his hands and feet to make the flowers.

The morning Julia was born, Liam was getting ready. He wrapped his doll in a blanket and practiced swaddling and holding it!

We are just so proud of how well Liam has done. He hasn't missed a beat and is the sweetest big brother ever!
