At his birthday party at home, he had his closest friends and family there to celebrate. Opening presents was fun and he got some exciting new toys, including a music table, car, and big wagon!
His sweet girlfriends Gradie, Madeline, Lillie and the youngest, Beatrice, were all there to celebrate.
We stripped him down for the eating of the cake! He had his very own "smash cake" and was very tentative with it. He didn't dive into it like you might expect. Although, by the end of it, he had destroyed the little cake (with some help from Daddy) and we took him straight to the tub. Thanks, Amy, for the head-up about taking off is shirt before putting him in the high chair!
Liam has developed an obsession for balloons. He carried his birthday balloon around for days. We hid it from him most of the time because if we ever had to take it away (say, for bed), he would pitch a fit. He even took a bath with it! In these pictures, you can see he actually has 2 balloons. One of them he took from sweet Lille (who kindly gave it to him) at his b'day party. You can see from this series of pictures that balloons were the best part of his party, at least to him.
I made a birthday table runner that everyone at the party signed so we could remember who all celebrated Liam's 1st year of life with us!
The party at school was a lot of fun, too. We had cupcakes and goldfish and his teachers, Ms. Shameika and Ms. Sydneia had made a special sign for him.
