Liam (and I) are taking swimming lessons this summer with some of his buddies from school (John Marshall, Sedgie, David and Anna). A friend of mine, Bryan Tull, is giving us all lessons (we're in the water with them) at John Marshall's house and we are ALL having a great time!

We had our first lesson actually scheduled at the Jewish Community Center. Kristine and I arrived with Sedgie and Liam and got all dressed for the pool and the instructor told us it's best to just drop them off and leave and come back and get them when it's over. We were in shock because we assumed it was a lesson for moms and kiddos. We watched them from the locker room and while they did okay, they were not having fun, which was the whole purpose of having swimming lessons anyway. Poor Sedgie was practically traumatized and cried almost the whole time.
We didn't feel comfortable after that lesson, needless to say. When talking with Will, he remembered Bryan talking about swimming lessons, so I asked him and the moms and we were all in favor of trying it out.
We've had two lessons now with Bryan and it has been an absolute blast! They (and we) are having a wonderful time. Liam has really taken to the water and is kicking, floating and blowing bubbles. He doesn't mind getting his head wet. This week, Bryan brought balls and when they came out all the kids went wild! Liam would only throw the ball to Bryan, though. He wanted him all to himself. Laura, Bryan's wife and a good friend from work, came this week and tooks these great pictures.
