Visiting Dot Dot

A few weeks ago, Will, Liam and Will's mom loaded up the car with toys, snacks and LOTS of puffs and headed to Selma to visit Dot Dot. Dot Dot is Will's mom's Aunt. She never had her own biological children, but she has been a mother and grandmother figure to all the nieces and nephews in her family. She and Jan (Will's mom) are very close and Jan has been helping take care of her, particularly this past year when she's been moved to a nursing home facility.

Dot Dot hasn't gotten to see Liam in a long time, so one Thursday a couple of weeks ago, they went. We had no idea what to expect of Liam since he doesn't particularly care to ride in the car if he's not sleeping (lots of whining, crying) and this was going to be 2 hours each way. In fact, the day before, Will made a Wal-mart run to try to get a DVD player for the car (even though Liam doesn't watch DVD's, we were desperate for tricks), but they didn't have one.

Liam ended up having a perfect day and the drive down to Selma and back went great (he slept most of the time). He charmed Dot Dot and played like a little angel. Dot Dot read to him his FAVORITE book of all time, DOG, that she gave to him last Christmas. It was a very special visit.
